The countdown has started! I leave for Route 66 on June 1st, and as I head west to Texas on Route 66 I’ll be uncovering America’s past by visiting the small towns of The United States that have died, that struggle to survive or that have fought the good fight and emerge even stronger. By investigating Anytown, USA, we’ll be able to get some type of hold on what American culture is and how it defines our nation.

Claremore, Oklahoma was the home of Will Rogers. It’s Main Street was killed by the behemoth Wal-Mart on the Miracle Mile just yards away.
